I only made it to 61 books last year. I was hoping for 75. But I had a fun year and didn’t always devote myself to sitting and reading! To see the complete list, click here. There are others I’d recommend…but I’ll touch on the best of the best:
My favorites were:
East of Eden by John Steinbeck – such a great, epic novel. Timshel!
How to Raise a Modern-Day Joseph by Linda Massey Weddle. Written by my mother. I kinda have to love a book dedicated to moi. Wait, you did dedicate it to me, right Mom? Mom? The book is a great guide to parents and churches in how to raise a spiritual child. Lots of tips and suggestions from birth to college.
June Bug by Chris Fabry. Chris is a friend of ours. So I kinda have to love a book written by a friend and dedicated to me. Just kidding. It wasn’t. But he did dedicate book #33 of the Kids’ Left Behind series to us. That counts, right? I don’t know how to take having book #33 of a series of post-rapture destruction…I mean by #33 of the Tribulation isn’t it all pretty much….over? Back to June Bug. It’s a great story. Well told. Atmospheric.
I also enjoyed My Life in France by Julia Child, Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card and Telling the Truth: The Gospel as Comedy, Tragedy and Fairy Tale by Frederich Buechner.
