There was a lull in action over the holiday break when my daughter and I were sitting at the table. She was practicing with her new Copic markers. She told me I should try to draw something and I made my usual I can’t draw a thing argument. Then this THING happened where she used all the things I have said in the past about “trying” and “don’t give up” and “it’s all about your attitude”, etc etc. She meant it, too. So we had fun drawing together. Well, me attempting to draw, and her for-real-drawing. So I signed my cat picture. Because I tried. And if you try, you should get credit. It’s not the best cat -it’s got super weird paw/legs – but hey, it’s a cat. And also, it convinced me my kids are listening to what I say to them. Well, some of what I say, anyway… 🙂
Last time I listed my goals for the year. Those are my more serious ones, but definitely there’s room for
fun goals as well. Anyone help me with these??
FUN GOALS 2015

-two more items checked off the Things to Do in Chicagoland list
-road trip with my kiddos!
-continue with my book club
-have people over/host three dinners
-go away for weekend downtown with husband 2x
Oh, and here’s what my daughter drew as I was attempting a silly cat:
