“Hey Mr Zebra, whaddup?”
“Aw, not much. It’s just that… well, I think a monster has been created.”
Since the hour I was planning on exercising today was magically erased by Daylight Savings Time (Shoot! How did that happen?), I had some time on my hands to check my CVS flyer and coupons in today’s paper. And, here’s my loot for the day:
(The tulips are from our friend, Trader Joe because I’m reading Edith Schaeffer’s book. And if you’ve read her book, you know what I mean. And if you haven’t read her book, you should.)
This fun pile included this free (with mail-in rebate) razor with free pair of headphones:
And some more Easter candies which were Buy One, Get One Free at $3.49, plus a $1.50 off coupon – so that comes to $1 a bag. And this time, I promise to not open them until Easter:
Remember that when you have a CVS card, you earn ECBs (Extra Care Bucks) that count as cash against future purchases. So…I used my $12 in ECBs I earned last week in the Honesty Contest and some newspaper coupons and I brought the total down from $49.90 to an out of pocket cost of $17.86. Then! Erase the $8 rebate on the razor, it comes to $9.86 with $4 earned in ECBs to use on a future trip.
The $9.86 would normally buy that pack of Pull-Ups, so I consider everything else to be free. And now I just don’t even know what to do with the rest of the day, cause ain’t nothing going to live up to that exciting trip.
“See what I meant? She’s a veritable Savings Monster.”
“I think she’d prefer it if you called her Mother of the Week.”
