Two Friday Favorites for you today. (Alert: Coffee is an EVERYDAY favorite. The End.)
Do you ever buy a piece of clothing that finally oh so finalllllly fits right, feels good, wears well and becomes your Seasonal Uniform? It’s the best. Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, it walked into my…closet. True Luv.
SO these are My OFFICIAL Pants of the Winter. These are corduroy – but not that old fashioned, scratchy corduroy of your fourth grade youth self when you were just trying to fit in and you had to sharpen your pencil and “wfft, wfft, wfft, wfft,” went your corduroy self up to the sharpener in the quiet of the quiz taking room. “I could just DIE of embarrassment” your little fourth grade self thought. No, no, no, these are NOT THOSE PANTS. These are soft, thin wale – hahahaha thin “whale”, funny – and stretchy. Buy them in the skinny jean form, because they tuck into your new cool boots your husband totally surprised you with for Christmas. (Shout out to Husband!XOXO) And today they are 60% of $59.50, which makes them… I don’t know, like…. practically FREE! Buy two pairs, you won’t be sorry. Find them HERE But hurry and order, because I’m gonna go snag a couple pairs for myself!
And second, I ordered a Jawbone UP. Heard of it? They were super cheap -around $40- via Best Buy last week (checking now to see if that price is still the same – nope, it’s not. but it’s at $80 right now. Look HERE.) and I got it. So far, so good. As far as I understand, the older models are being sold off now to make room for the newer ones. (makes sense) But the older one I got is just fine for now. Basically, you wear it around your wrist and connect it to your computer, or sync it with your smart phone and the data uploads. It tracks your sleep and your steps. You manually have to enter food if you want to track your calories and you manually have to input other workouts – like weightlifting, cycling – if you want to get credit for those activities. You set your own goals and you can set little alerts to help remind you to reach those goals. It alerts you by doing this silent vibration on your wrist… which is also how it wakes you in the morning.
Overall, I like it. I like tracking it on my phone, since I tend to be forgetful about tracking things. The Cons are that it is this gray thing on my wrist (a little conspicuous) and that you have to input foods. I hate tracking food. And that will never be solved, no matter how intelligent any future products think they are!
Overall, recommend for those who like numbers, or for those who just need a little motivation.
