Thanks for your comments on the ferret issue. KellY’s link to articles about ferrets was interesting and really sealed the deal for me, because they said that ferrets like to “get into piles of clothes” and could possible heat up and die in the dryer. Just let that image settle in. First of all, the chances of piles of clothing being in my house are 100%, and me actually putting clothes in the dryer is more like 20%, but still…. the odds aren’t good for the little one.
We already have a dog and a cat. And until the cat goes to the great scratching post in the sky (will she have her claws back in her heavenly body?), I really am resisting any more pets. I can see us getting Miss PetCo a hamster at some point. Although, her sister, the 6yo, did ask me this interesting question the other day: “If you put a hamster in an exercise ball and you forget about him because he got lost, will he die and go to heaven?” No simple questions for that girl. She always comes up with complex scenarios for her queries. This particular question tells you 1) how messy her room is and 2) how much time she spends playing with her Nintendo’s Hamsterz 2 game.
For now, we’ll be ferret-less. I think they’ll be alright. Last night’s library excursion was back to books on kittens and polar bears.
Hmmm… a polar bear…..
