In a complete “Duh” moment, I figured out that a 5K is only 3.1 miles, not 3.5 miles, as I had previously thought. This proves that 1) I have never run a 5K and 2) I do not understand the metric system! I’m embarrassed to admit it in public. Please forgive my ignorance on the subject!
So, my newly remodeled goal is to Run a 5K in under 30 minutes.
Find running info at Cool Running’s site. They have info for beginner’s and advanced runners.
Kristin Armstrong’s blog is interesting at Runner’s World’s site. (You may know her as Lance’s ex) I enjoyed reading her past posts on running marathons and training and raising three children.
Little Miss Chatterbox is my LDWB (Long Distance Workout Buddy), it’s better that we’re not LRNDWB (Lives Right Next Door Workout Buddies), otherwise we’d be talking and eating ice cream too much to workout.
My brother, he of Anti-Itch Meditation fame, is my Coach. He may not know it yet, but he is.
And Pastor Mark, of Runalong, is my new Running Hero. (His blog link is in my sidebar) I didn’t know I needed a Running Hero, but now that I’ve read some of his posts, I knew he was the only one in the running for the title and have elected him as such.
My motivators may not know they’re my motivators, but hey, sometimes a girl needs more than cute clothes to motivate her. But that doesn’t mean I still don’t check out Sundance Catalog’s site often. (Those clothes support my inner “Live On a Ranch” dreams, but more on that later.)
