Music: Played through some of my favorite classical pieces today. Including Fruncle’s favorite: Rondo Alla Turka
1. Went to two stores with my daughter. Fun to just shop with a 7yo and take our time browsing the bookshelves. Kid’s perspectives add so much.
2. Went Sew-Crazy yesterday and finally sewed some curtains for our basement windows. While I was at it, we sewed five pillows – one for each of us in the family… oh, and one for Grandma. I have no idea where this came from, as I rarely use the sewing machine, as evidenced by my kid’s questions over it and the “Oohs!” and “Aahs!” coming from them as I sewed!
3. Read a lot at night. We are night owls, husband watches his shows, I read or watch. When I mentioned a good author to a lady a couple weeks ago, she said she couldn’t read anymore, because she had little kids to care for. I didn’t know what to say – I mean, I have little kids, is she suggesting I don’t care for them?- so I just stood there. Then she paused, looked at me, and said, “Oh.” To me, it’s important that I stay balanced by being sure I take some time to enjoy my own interests and if that time is between 11 and 12 at night, so be it. I’m going to take it and use it to learn, grow, and relax.
Oh, don’t get me started. I’m in a mood.
